the weekend itinerary for your best gal's bachelorette party

why the bachelorette weekend itinerary? the party planners already know who is going, who is on the fence -- but this mailed piece gives the guests an idea of what's in store for the big weekend.

these weekends take so much planning and commitment by everyone attending, so the bridesmaids usually know who is 'in' or 'out' far in advance. and suddenly, a generic invitation becomes a bit arbitrary.

...but there's still so many details to communicate to the guests and an email can be a little lack-luster. the bachelorette itinerary is an easy way way to get the guests excited and convince those on-the-fencers that the weekend is not to be missed!

gold, mint, coral & kraft bachelorette party invites

this invite was obviously heavily inspired by the neon bachelorette party invites from last year. i received a request from the sister-of-the-bride to re-create the invite and weekend itinerary with the coral, mint & gold color scheme. i love how they turned out. the toned-down colors give it a totally different look. still fun and girly, just a bit softer.

coincidentally, the gals receiving this invite were also doing a wine-tasting weekend in the texas hill country. i would do anything to do that weekend again -- it was so much fun. (cue matthew fox in that famous scene from LOST.)

easy, cheap & festive party decor + house update

first things first! here's a picture of our house. it was built in 1937 and took a beating over the years. someone bought it late last year, flipped it and sold it to us. we were so lucky to jump on this house when we did - love at first sight and in a neighborhood we're excited to explore.

..and now to more fun stuff. jon's sister graduated high school this year and all of her brothers and sis'-in-laws got together to throw her a little bash. we were all on a budget, but pulled off a pretty festive fajita soiree in our back yard.

with four kids and lots of birthdays to throw, my mother-law-in-law was smart to invest in a helium tank years ago. the balloons were a last-minute addition to the decor, but they were the best part! we taped fringed tissue paper to the base of the balloon to create these geronimo balloons-inspired floaters.

for the table, i used a dip-dye table cloth and crepe paper to create this striped runner. double-sided tape kept them in place.

to finish the ends, i simply cut out a little wedge.

and throughout the house, i made tissue-paper flowers. they brightened up the windowsills, tables, bathrooms and anywhere that needed a little pop of color.

here's the graduate with her bearded brothers. congrats callie! i was thrilled she happened to match the color scheme with such a pretty yellow dress.

my little nephew max is up-and-running these days. we tied a balloon to him so we easily spot him when he ran off. i think i might utilize this little nugget for when i have kids. my sister-in-law, chelsea, took the most precious photo of max with the balloons

that's all, kiddos. xo

modern groomsmen cards -- will you be my best man?

every now and then i get an email from a client asking if i make groomsman cards that don't have  mustaches on them! there's definitely saturation of mustache products at there.. and if you're looking for an alternative, there aren't a lot of masculine versions.

i came up with these simple groomsman cards that feature the wedding date on the front and the 'will you be my groomsman, best man, etc" question on the inside.

i imagine this groom to love adventure, whiskey and to never leave the house without his pocket knife. but if he doesn't do all or any of those requirements, that's okay. he's a total gentleman by asking his wedding party with good ol' fashioned stationery.

groomsman cards are available in the shop as single cards & sets of three.

sparkly surprise bridal luncheon invite

i forgot to post these! and i promise it's the last installment of andie's wedding paper :)

the day before she got married her mother's best friend threw a fantastic bridal luncheon for andie & her ladies. andie was sweet enough to recommend me to make the invitations. we went with girly & light to reflect the relaxed luncheon.. and of course, had to add some metallics.

i stashed some gold sequins in each envelope for a little sparkly surprise.

here's the detail of the invite....pastel confetti & pastel confetti pattern on the back.

modern baby shower - pink, poppy & turquiose

ohhh i love me some baby girls, baby girl. i pretty much got free reign on the project, with guidelines to use turquoise, poppy & pink (a fab color combo, if you ask me) and to make it kinda funky and girly.

it's been extra special because i've gotten to know the mom-to-be a lot better throughout her pregnancy and i'm anxiously awaiting her arrival! she's got some pretty awesome parents.

.. and just a side note - this shower was amazing. my friend andie threw it and made it EVERYTHING a couples shower should be. there was football for guys, crafts for gals (a onesie-making table), amazing cocktails, enough food to feed an army. and of course, i didn't take any pics at the actual shower because i was having too much fun. but this photo can give you an idea of the cuteness.

custom texas lake house wedding invitation suite

hooray! i can finally share this wedding invitation suite that i created for my brother-in-law and his lovely bride, chelsea. (get a peek of their beautiful ceremony at her blog). they got married at the lake house (a great place to get hitched!).

chelsea was the easiest person to work with. she knew she wanted the pieces to have a texas look with touches of moss green & eggplant purple incorporated through each piece.

thanks for letting me be apart of the process, chelsea!

bach party in the hills - neon and neutral invites & party pics

so excited to share theis post with everyone --- this has been a little pet project of mine for awhile. as mentioned before, andie & i share a love for all things neon & nuetral -- as apparent with our bottle project.

for her bachelorette party invites i took that mutual love to heart and created a fun invite suite to let the invitees know the busy and fun activities the bridesmaids cooked up. we were headed to the texas hill country, for a some relaxation, wine & lots of silliness before the wedding.

my right brain was thrilled to bring a detailed itinerary to the table. my left brain wanted it to fold up in a tiny envelope sealed with striped neon washi tape.

needless to say, we had a blast! here's a few photos from the weekend...

one of my favorite shots with the bride, posing at hula hut in austin.

andie and her maid of honor, ms. lindsay.

this was a well-documented weekend. everyone snapping photos in the limo.

the bride & her bridesmaids - all great ladies that she's known very well. and sometimes the bully each other :)

my shoe shot. wearing 3 inch wedges on some hill country terrain. and not a broken ankle, hah!

and my favorite photos of the weekend.. morning after photos. thanks to all the ladies who humored me in taking this photo. there was not primping for these photos and they're still looking pretty hot.

tex-brit baby shower

this was such a fun event to design an invite for - tex-brit baby shower theme. the dad is british, the mother is a texan (and a longhorn -- hook 'em!). and they're headed to texas soon to start their family.

with the royal wedding, the queen's jubilee & the london olympics stacked upon each other... i've had plenty of british buzz to inspire this british-texas family's first baby.

my favorite part was creating a little crest for them. three hearts for the three members of their family (or soon to be three members), and S for the surname and the texas & british flags. yes, we texans will put a country up against our state -- if rick perry had his way, we would become a country again.

good & honest marriage advice - bridal shower games

new item in the shop for wedding shower games! there's definitely a demand for non-cheesy bridal shower things to do... am i right? I know I'm not the only one.

but there's still a way to do something. if you have fun friends and like a good glass of wine, the answers to these questions can be very surprising and funny. especially if there's a divorced gal or two in the mix.  the honest answers are the best!

go ahead, ladies. order them now.
